Zoom Video Communications service went down
Zoom Video Communications service went down Thursday afternoon, affecting some of the many businesses and customers who have relied on it for meetings since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
According to data from the outage-tracking website Down Detector, there were over 16,000 user reports of Zoom issues beginning shortly after 2:17 p.m. EDT.
Zoom, which had a brief outage in September, said in a 2:33 p.m. website update: “We have resolved the issue that was preventing some users from accessing zoom.us. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as they become available.”
Zoom quickly became the world’s most popular web conferencing platform, with 300 million daily meeting participants by April 2020.
The total cumulative runtime of all Zoom calls over the course of a year is represented by “Annual minutes.” It logs over 3.3 trillion annual minutes, according to the Zoom Analyst Day presentation.
Zoom is the best video conferencing software, according to G2, a peer-to-peer review site, with Microsoft Teams and Skype coming in second and third, respectively.
