Microsoft Outlook users will soon have a more collaborative experience as a result of an update to Microsoft Teams.

The video conferencing service is reportedly developing a feature that will integrate Teams chat with Outlook, allowing for a meeting-like experience right within the email client.

These new “Outlook meetings” will allow users to send a brief message or review a dialogue without opening Microsoft Teams separately.

Microsoft said the new functionality will enable “an easy Teams chat experience from Outlook in the context of a meeting”

There aren’t many details on how the feature will work, but it appears to be an expansion of Outlook’s Teams functions. Users can instantly mail their contacts using the Teams add-in for Outlook when both apps are installed.

The feature is “under development” with a March 2023 release date. All Outlook web users will have access when it launches.

Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to link their calendars with Outlook, which helps them manage their time and pinpoint availability for online meetings.
