Elon Musk says the Tesla Cybertruck will not be available until 2024

Elon Musk indicated during the company’s fourth-quarter results call earlier today that Tesla‘s long-awaited Cybertruck will not reach mass production until 2024.

Musk was asked during the event if it will fulfill a mid-2023 manufacturing target set in Q2 of 2022. Musk cagily acknowledged that production of the contentious pickup will begin “sometime this summer,” but full production will not begin until next year.

Musk remarked: “I always try to downplay the start of production.” It increases exponentially, but it is very slow at first.

According to an estimate published a year ago, it was then scheduled for sometime in 2023. Furthermore, Musk informed investors last year that the Cybertruck will be more expensive and will use different technology than was originally anticipated.

As a consolation, Tesla revealed on Wednesday that it has begun installing production equipment for the Cybertruck’s assembly, including castings for the electric pickup’s body.
