Google Removes Pixel Watch 3 and Buds Pro 2 from Home App
Google has announced the removal of two products, the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2, from the Google Home app. Previously, these wearables were listed in the “Devices” tab under the “Linked to you” section. Google clarified that the Home app does not support the “Find My Device” feature, which confused users.
The Google Home app serves as a central hub for managing smart home devices like Nest speakers, smart displays, thermostats, and security cameras. In contrast, the “Find My Device” feature is designed for Android users to locate their missing Google gadgets, such as Pixel Buds and Chromebooks, using location data and signals.
Initially, the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 were incorrectly included in the Google Home app instead of being listed under Google’s “Find My Device” feature. Google has since removed their tiles from the Home app, directing users to utilize the “Find My Device” app to track their devices instead.
In related news, some Google Home app users encountered issues with the Activity feed and Settings tab on Friday afternoon, but the company is actively working on a fix for those problems.
