Pakistan has reached a significant milestone in its space technology journey with the successful operationalization of its first multi-mission satellite, Paksat-MM1, made possible through the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), according to a reports.

The launch of this satellite is expected to transform the country’s communication systems, offering substantial benefits across various sectors within the IT industry.

Paksat-MM1 will enhance internet connectivity, particularly in remote regions, and is anticipated to improve services like broadcasting, community internet access, and tele-education, providing a boost to local industries.

With these advancements, Pakistan has moved up on the United Nations e-Government Development Index, now holding the 136th position—up 14 places from its previous rank of 150 in 2022.

This progress underscores the country’s commitment to advancing its technological and digital infrastructure.
