Facebook Messenger introduces HD video calls, AI backgrounds, and more

Meta has announced several updates to enhance Facebook Messenger’s calling experience. The app now supports HD video calls, background noise suppression, and voice isolation.

These features aim to deliver clearer, higher-quality calls, creating a more immersive experience, especially for those using Wi-Fi.

For mobile data calls, HD can be manually activated. Noise suppression and voice isolation can be adjusted through call settings, ensuring optimal call quality even in noisy environments.

Messenger allows users to leave audio or video messages when a call goes unanswered. Simply tap “record message” to share your message.

Exciting updates are also coming soon, including AI-generated backgrounds for video calls. This feature can be accessed by selecting the effects icon during your next call, adding a touch of fun and creativity to your conversations.

iOS users now have the convenience of asking Siri to make Messenger calls or send messages, streamlining communication further.
