Spotify’s Music Pro streaming tier set to launch in 2025
After a four-year wait, Spotify is finally set to launch its HiFi streaming tier, expected to be called “Music Pro,” later this year. According to Bloomberg, the company is finalizing details, including streaming rights, for the new premium offering.
Spotify’s Music Pro Plan
The Music Pro tier is expected to come at an extra cost of $5 to $6 per month on top of the existing Spotify Premium subscription, which currently starts at $11.99 per month. This follows multiple price hikes in recent years.
Unlike Apple Music, which includes lossless streaming in its standard plan, Spotify aims to justify the extra cost by offering additional perks. Potential features may include song remixing options, exclusive concert ticket sales, early access to new music, and special deals for subscribers.
Spotify’s New Licensing Deals
Spotify recently signed multi-year agreements with Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group, securing long-term streaming rights and paving the way for HiFi streaming. Universal Music Group even hinted at introducing a “superfan” music service, offering priority access to exclusive content, early music releases, artist Q&As, and listening parties.
With these new developments, Spotify Music Pro could bring a more immersive and high-quality experience for dedicated music fans.
