WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has started testing a new feature called “Status Questions” for Android users. It is currently available only to selected beta testers through the Google Play Store’s beta version 2.25.29.12, according to WABetaInfo.

This feature allows users to add a question box to their WhatsApp status, where their contacts can send replies directly. All answers are private and can only be seen by the person who posted the question.

Similar to Instagram’s question sticker, this new option lets users include a question box along with their photos or videos in their status. The feature is part of the latest beta update for Android devices.

Whenever someone replies, WhatsApp sends an instant notification to the user, showing a preview of the response. This helps users check and manage answers easily and stay engaged with their contacts in real time.

All replies and interactions are protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the sender and receiver can see them, keeping user privacy secure.

At the moment, the Status Questions feature is limited to beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program, but WhatsApp plans to roll it out gradually to more users. Once testing is complete, it will likely be released for all Android users, and later possibly for iOS. Those who want to try it early can join the beta program on Google Play.
