Careem, the Super App for the Middle East and Pakistan, established the Falcon initiative to help young developers.
The program is made up of several training modules that will last for a year and give recent college graduates the chance to use Careem’s top-notch technology to solve real-life problems.
More than 20 Falcons have joined the programme, and nine of them have gone on to core tech teams. With this move, they can work directly on super applications like people, goods, and money mobility.
The Falcons will also have the chance to work with engineering leaders at Careem who have worked for companies like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Flipkart and have a lot of experience.
Senior Director of Engineering Khurram Naseem said, “As part of our mission to make people’s lives easier and better, we need to make sure that the app is also easy to use. This requires a very strong team of engineers who are always working to keep the quality of the user experience high.”
“The Falcon project gives us the chance to find talented engineers all over the region and give them the tools they need to become world-class engineers,” he said.
Careem intends to create Pakistan a tech hotspot by employing young college graduates from throughout the nation. The Falcons’ engineering staff in Cairo, Jordan, Karachi, and Lahore will operate remotely.
Over 800,000 Captains have joined Careem’s platform. Careem, the “Super App” of the area, provides additional services such as transferring people, money, food, and everyday essentials, as well as peer-to-peer credit transfers and cell top-ups.
