For a quite long time, spammers and unknown message senders find it easy to disturb other users of Facebook and other social apps.
Users find it quite uncomfortable, receiving inappropriate and harassing messages from the spammers.
But, since the launch of ‘Message Request’ option, it has become much helpful to let users allow only messages they want to respond.
Through the ‘Message Request’ feature, only those senders will be able to chat or poke the user once he/she accepts the message request or else those messages will rest in the request folder.
Facebook Messenger offers users the ability to quickly and easily connect people around the globe.
All you need is a person’s profile information to send the message.
Unfortunately, this also poses risks for those with ill-intentions to contact unsuspecting people.
CHECKING MESSAGE REQUESTS IN WEB BROWSER
If you’re using a web browser follow these steps:
- Tap on the message icon in the top right toolbar
- At the top, you will see the option for “Message Requests”
- Tap on this option to see the messages
CHECK MESSAGES FROM THE APP
Open the Facebook Messenger application for Android and sign in using your Facebook account.
You may see the “Message Requests” option at the top of your chat history.
If you don’t, follow these steps:
- In the top left; Tap on your profile picture
- Tap on the option that says “Message Requests”
- Toggle between the “You May Know” tab and the “Spam” tab
This will take you to a page that features a list of message requests that you have pending.
If the list is empty, you don’t have any message requests.
