TikTok has suspended Faizal Siddiqui’s account for promoting acid attack on women through a video brings storm to social media.

Faizal Siddiqui’s TikTok account can no longer be accessed and has caught attention of the National Commission for Women (NCW).

The controversy around the video also resulted in hundreds of users leaving 1-star reviews for the app on app stores.

The video shows Siddiqui threatening a girl who left him for another guy. In response, the controversial star threw acid on her face. To show the acid attack stars, the girl wore a heavy makeup which can resemble them.

Before throwing liquid onto the girl’s face, he mouths the dialogue: “Tumhe usne chhorr diya jiske liye tumne mujhe chhorra tha?”

Number of netizens and even celebrities slammed Faizal for glorifying acid attack. A survivor from acid attack, Laxmi Agarwal, took to Instagram with the video and lashed out at Faizal.

However, she also thanked the National Commission for Women for cognizance of the video.

“Keeping people on TikTok safe is a top priority and we make it clear in our Term of Service and Community Guidelines that clearly outlines what is not acceptable on our platform. As per the policy, we do not allow content that risks safety of others, promotes physical harm or glorifies violence against women. The behaviour in question violates our guidelines and we have taken down content, suspended the account, and are working with law enforcement agencies as appropriate,” said a TikTok spokesperson.

Faizal, before the controversial video, had over 13 million followers on the video sharing application Tik Tok.
