A 10-year old girl from Wisconsin who went missing has been found dead in the woods

The body of a 10-year-old Wisconsin young girl who disappeared Sunday night was discovered Monday morning, police said.

Iliana “Lily” M. Peters’ dad detailed her missing after she didn’t get back from her auntie’s home, Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm said during a news meeting.

Peters’ bicycle was found a couple of squares from her auntie’s home, and on Monday morning, her body was found in a lush region. Chippewa Falls Police are examining her passing as murder and said there might be a threat to the general population.

Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District said it was working with police.

“Our contemplations with the family during this troublesome time,” said an articulation from the region.

Kelm choked up momentarily during the news meeting as he reported Peters’ demise.

“Our specialists on call are colossally affected by anything that impacts our youngsters,” he said
