After his original life sentence was reversed, an Indonesian schoolteacher who raped 13 pupils and pregnant eight of them was condemned to death by a court.

Herry Wirawan, 36, was sentenced to death after the Bandung High Court in Indonesia heard about a series of rapes.

The court heard how the cruel headteacher sexually molested children aged 12 to 16 between 2016 and 2021, with the crimes only coming to light after one of the survivors’ families complained to police.

According to reports, at least nine infants were born as a result of the rapes, and other minors were injured as a result of Wirawan’s numerous attacks.

According to the court, he assaulted the girls in ten separate locations, including a hotel, an apartment, the school foundation’s office, and a boarding school room.

Wirawan molested the pupils while pretending to give them a massage, and he intimidated them by telling them they “must follow the teacher.”

The schoolteacher had been sentenced to life in prison by a municipal court, but prosecutors went the Supreme Court and filed an appeal seeking the death penalty for him.

“[We] hereby sentence the offender with the death penalty,” the court declared on its website.
