Man was detained for reportedly urinating at a gate in terminal-3’s departure area, police said. Jauhar Ali Khan, a Bihar native who was arrested during the Sunday evening incident, was eventually released on bail the same day, they claimed.

According to a senior police officer, they received information Sunday at 5.30 p.m. that a guy urinated publicly at gate number 6 in the departure section of Indira Gandhi International Airport’s terminal 3.

According to police, Mr Khan appeared to be inebriated when he caused a disturbance in a public place by ranting and assaulting other individuals.

He was supposed to travel to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, they said.

Mr Khan was evaluated at the Safdarjung Hospital and it was discovered that he had ingested alcohol, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Ravi Kumar Singh.

A case under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at IGI Airport and Khan was arrested. He was later released on a bail bond, the DCP said.

Previously, on November 26, last year, a drunken man allegedly urinated on a woman co-passenger in the business class of an Air India aircraft from New York to Delhi.

On the basis of a complaint made by the woman to Air India, the Delhi Police opened a FIR against him on January 4 and arrested him in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The accused was apprehended in Bengaluru. A judge eventually sentenced him to 14 days in judicial remand.
