US President Donald Trump has proposed postponing the scheduled presidential election in November.

The country’s constitution sets a date for the election, and Democrats are criticizing it after Donald Trump made the proposal.

US President Trump is reiterating his claim that the election was rigged by mail without any evidence and is showing the possibility of postponing the election.

In a tweet on a social networking site, he said, “With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???”

No White House spokesman immediately responded to a request for comment.

Donald Trump has long spoken out against postal voting, even though he was widely used in the primary because of the coronavirus.

He also accused it of rigging but declined to say whether he would accept the results in the event of an election defeat.

Democrats and their presidential candidate, Joe Biden, have already begun preparing to protect voters and the election for fear that Donald Trump will try to interfere in the November 3 election.

Member of the Democratic Party Dan Kildee said on Twitter: “A sitting President is peddling lies and suggesting delaying the election to keep himself in power.

Don’t let it happen. Every American—Republican, Independent and Democrat—should be speaking out against this President’s lawlessness and complete disregard of the Constitution.

It should be noted that many US states want voting by post due to health concerns caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. About half of US states allow voters to vote on a request by mail.
