Cambodia Art School 24-hour Circus Breaks Guinness World Record

Most circus shows last between one and two hours and has many different acts. But an art school in Cambodia broke a Guinness World Record by putting on a 24-hour circus show. A Cambodian art school called Phare Ponleu Selpak put on the longest circus show, which went on for 24 hours, 10 minutes, and 30 seconds.

On November 18, Phare shared a video and a note on Twitter to officially announce the record. At the start of the video, the artists are practising their show on stage before it starts. Then, it shows a short clip of them performing in front of the crowd.

The clip also shows people being interviewed about the COVID-19 pandemic and how they overcame it. At the conclusion, they celebrate breaking a Guinness World Record.

The caption also read, “What do you do if you win a Guinness World Record for Cambodia? Throw a SURPRISE PARTY!!! Watch till the end to learn how our performers kept going for 24 hours to save our non-profit and achieve The Longest Circus Show Ever: Then see shock and joy as their dream comes true!! ”

Phare Ponleu Selpak helps youngsters overcome war traumas and recover Cambodia’s culture and education following the Khmer Rouge massacre. Over 800 impoverished kids are educated and trained in the arts to help hundreds of families transcend poverty and preserve Cambodian culture.

In the last decade, they’ve established a popular animal-free circus and tourist attraction to fund their lifesaving programs.
