Mariah Thomas, a 26-year-old mom from Missouri, is facing serious charges after her one-month-old baby was tragically found dead in an oven. She says she accidentally put the baby in there, mistaking it for a crib when trying to put the child down for a nap.

The authorities found the baby badly burned and not breathing. Mariah has been charged with a severe crime related to the death of her baby and is in custody awaiting further legal action.

Mariah’s friend mentioned that she had mental health struggles and described her baby, Za’Riah, as always happy. Mariah’s friend noted that Mariah didn’t think like an adult but more like a child. Za’Riah’s grandfather got a call from Mariah asking him to come home because something was wrong with the baby. Sadly, when he got there, Za’Riah was found dead in her crib with a smell of smoke in the air.

Mariah said she accidentally put Za’Riah in the oven. When the police arrived, they found Za’Riah in a car seat with burns on her body. She was dressed in a dirty and possibly burned outfit, and there was a burnt baby blanket found as evidence.
