The premiere of Lazawal Ishq, promoted as Pakistan’s first reality TV dating show, has sparked major backlash after its first episode went live. Hosted by actress Ayesha Omar and filmed at a villa in Turkey, the show brings together eight Pakistani contestants—four men and four women—who live under one roof to search for “forever love.”

The debut episode, uploaded on the show’s YouTube channel, has already crossed 128,000 views. It featured Ayesha Omar introducing the contestants and helping them interact, share preferences, and talk about their likes.

But despite the views, the response has been overwhelmingly negative. Many Pakistanis are upset with the show’s format, especially the idea of unmarried men and women living together. The YouTube comments section is filled with criticism, where viewers are calling it inappropriate and urging others to boycott it.

Some of the comments read: “Such a creep show! Waste of money, waste of the 10 minutes I spent skipping through it.” Another said, “It felt so bad watching this. May Allah forgive such people and guide them to the right path.” One user wrote, “I reported it successfully, now it’s your turn.” Others demanded, “Please boycott this cheap program.”

The backlash shows how strongly viewers disapprove of the show’s concept, with many even cursing the makers.
