According to him, the same doctor took pictures of him and posted them on social media, which went viral.

Dr Muhammad Hanif, the chief meteorologist at the Meteorological Department, said that there are five spells of rain in each season, these rains are the second spell of the season which have proved to be very useful for wheat crops in rain-fed areas.

However, according to him, the rains in Central Punjab and South Punjab are also likely to cause damage to crops due to strong winds and hailstorms in these areas.

According to Dr Hanif, the recent rains have fallen in 100 per cent of the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan while 70 to 80 per cent of the rains have fallen in Punjab. Inland, including Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the rains have fallen in 70% of the country.

Dr Hanif added that these rains will significantly reduce pollen in the country’s capital Islamabad, while the speed of coronavirus transmission also slows down in such weather.
