The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts more rain, wind, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan over the weekend. This is due to a weather system called a westerly wave affecting the upper and central regions of the country.

Expect these weather conditions on Friday evening/night and the following two days in areas like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Balochistan. Some places might experience heavy rainfall and hailstorms.

This rainy spell will help bring temperatures back to normal levels, as they are currently 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above average in some parts of Pakistan.

On Saturday, Islamabad’s maximum temperature will be around 31-33°C, dropping to 28-30°C on Sunday. Rawalpindi will see temperatures of 35-37°C on Saturday and 33-35°C on Sunday.
