Karachi: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi will continue to experience cold and dry weather today, with dense fog reducing visibility to nearly 2.5 kilometers in parts of the city.
The ongoing cold spell is expected to last until the end of January. Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 12°C while the maximum temperature is forecast to range between 22°C and 25°C with humidity currently standing at 54 percent.
Northeasterly winds are blowing at approximately 10 kilometers per hour, and no rainfall is expected at present.
Overall weather situation across Pakistan
PMD has announced that a fresh western weather system is likely to enter Pakistan’s upper regions from tonight, bringing widespread rain and snowfall through February 3, 2026.
Light to moderate rainfall, along with snowfall over mountainous terrain, is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan. From tomorrow through February 3, several areas of Azad Kashmir are also forecast to receive rain and snow.
Upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may witness intermittent precipitation, while Islamabad and the Pothohar region are likely to experience light showers between February 1 and 3. Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding hill stations are expected to see snowfall accompanied by light rain.
Northern Balochistan is forecast to receive rain, gusty winds, and snowfall tomorrow and on February 1. Meanwhile, cold conditions are expected to intensify further in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Chaman, and Pishin.
The Met Office added that most parts of the country will remain cold and dry today, though partly cloudy skies may prevail in isolated areas.
Extremely cold conditions are anticipated in hilly regions, with scattered rain and light snowfall likely tonight in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Balochistan.
