Winter deepens across Pakistan with fog and freezing temperatures

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country today and over the coming days.

The PMD reports that plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience fog and smog during morning and night hours, particularly in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, and Bahawalpur, as well as adjoining areas.-

In Islamabad and surrounding regions, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry. Similarly, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan and nearby areas may witness light to moderate fog at a few places during morning and nighttime.

The PMD further stated that hilly areas will remain very cold during morning and night hours, while Murree, Galiyat and adjoining regions are likely to experience cold and dry weather.

In Kashmir, the weather will stay cold and dry, with severely cold conditions expected during early morning and nighttime. Gilgit-Baltistan is also likely to experience severely cold weather with partly cloudy skies.

Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain dry, with cold conditions during the night and early morning.
