Ukraine is losing up to 100 soldiers per day as it continues to engage Russian forces, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian leader told the American television station Newsmax that the “most terrible” situation was in the country’s east, notably in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk.

“The position in the east is critical. Every day, we lose 60 to 100 men, and another 500 are injured in battle. So we’re maintaining our defensive perimeters “He stated.

Mr. Zelenskyy later claimed that US rockets provided to Ukraine would not be deployed against Russian territory.

He stated, “I’m aware that some in the United States, or at least those in the White House, believe we’ll use them to attack Russia. Look, we have no intention of attacking Russia. The Russian Federation is uninteresting to us. We’re not battling on their turf.”

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the United Kingdom has provided its latest intelligence report on the Ukraine conflict.

Russia’s ground activities are still “tightly targeted,” with firepower concentrated on a narrow sector of the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine, according to the report.

Fighting has increased in the eastern city of Severodonetsk over the previous two days, with “almost half of the town” being presumably held by Russian troops, including Chechen rebels, according to the ministry.
