An advantageous consulting position with the US army; has been halt for a retire three-star general after a social media post with his name on it mocked; first lady Jill Biden’s support for abortion rights.
Gary Volesky, a former top military spokesperson who retired as a lieutenant general; and decorated with a silver medal for valour while fighting in Iraq; was earning $92 per hour counselling military officials, personnel, and students; who were participating in war simulations and other similar activities.
Then, however, a Twitter account using his identity responded to a statement made by Biden; denouncing the supreme court’s decision to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision; which had established federal abortion rights, on June 24.
In response to the judgement, which effectively made abortions illegal in more than half of the nation; the Democratic first lady remarked, “For over 50 years; women have had the freedom to make our own decisions about our bodies”. “That right was taken from us today.”
“Glad to see you now realise what a lady is”; said the response from an account using Volesky’s name. The comment is a verbal jab at the Biden White House’s support; for the transgender population by some on the platform.
A spokeswoman for the army announced on Saturday that Lt Gen Theodore Martin; who oversees the combined weapons centre for the military branch; has stopped Volesky from his consulting work until an inquiry into the matter is in progress.
