Germany to send air defense system to Ukraine, Defense Ministry
The German Minister of Defense, Christine Lambrecht, said that Germany will soon ship the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine, These systems will come from Germany.
According to a statement made by Lambrecht, “the ongoing firing of missiles against Kyiv and many other places demonstrates how crucial it is to deploy air defense systems to Ukraine as quickly as feasible.”
“Attacks carried out by Russia using missiles and drones are particularly terrifying for civilians. Because of this, we are currently assisting, particularly by providing armaments to defend against aerial attacks.”
Russia bombarded cities across Ukraine on Monday morning during rush hour, resulting in the deaths of civilians as well as the disruption of power and heat. It appeared that these acts were an act of retaliation against Russian President Vladimir Putin for his characterization of an explosion on a bridge in Russia that leads to Crimea as a terrorist strike.
