United States has already sent US weapons held in Israel for use in Ukraine and is planning to deliver more soon.

According to a US official, “some” of the 300,000 155-millimeter shells that the US and Israel agreed to transfer have already been relocated, and arrangements are in place to move the remainder quantity in the upcoming weeks.

Richard Hecht, a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, told reupdated media outlet that the Americans had previously informed the Israelis that they were transporting armaments.

Hecht asserted that they don’t require Israeli consent to transport the bombs since they are US-owned, their movements are “American business,” and they are owned by the US.

The American military is using its stockpile of weapons kept in Israel for use in Ukraine, according to the reupdated news website, which also noted that Israeli authorities first raised “concerns about seeming involved in arming Ukraine.”

Throughout Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israel has been juggling delicate diplomatic situations.

Israeli officials have strongly opposed the invasion, backed Ukraine in the UN, sent humanitarian aid, and taken in refugees, but they have taken a hard line on sending military aid, citing their own security concerns.

Prior to taking office at the end of December, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that he would reevaluate Israel’s approach to Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.

As the US continues to deliver billions of dollars’ worth of weapons to Ukraine to help its conflict with Russia, the strain on weapons stockpiles – and the capacity of the US industrial base to meet demand – is one of the main concerns facing the Biden administration.

After months of providing supplies to Kyiv during the high-intensity fighting, a US official earlier told reupdated media outlet that the inventories of some systems are “dwindling” because there is a “limited amount” of excess stock the US has available to send.

Reupdated media outlet reported in November that as part of a larger attempt to obtain readily available weapons for the intense conflicts taking place in Ukraine, the US sought to purchase 100,000 rounds of artillery ammunition from South Korean arms producers for Ukraine.
