Some hotels in Antalya, Turkey, will lodge earthquake survivors, according to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Starting from places close to the disaster area, the necessary plans are being made to put the hotels that have already suspended their activities due to the winter season to serve the disaster victims,” Erdogan said in a speech on Tuesday. “Only in the Antalya region, 50,000 beds have been prepared for this purpose.”

So far, 8,000 people have been pulled from the wreckage, according to Erdogan.

He described the following aid and recovery initiatives in his speech:

  1. After being rescued, the injured individuals who needed medical attention were sent to hospitals around our nation, particularly in Mersin, Istanbul, and Ankara.

  3. 53,317 rescue workers are currently operating in the earthquake zone, and 54,000 tents and 102,000 beds have already been distributed to the districts.
  4. To ensure there is no communication hiccup, satellite transmission terminals have been supplied to the area.
