Spain asked Switzerland to enable it to re-export anti-aircraft weapons made in Switzerland to Ukraine, but Switzerland refused.

The government stated that Spain’s request for a waiver of the non-re-export requirement “was considered in light of the same criteria as an export of war equipment from Switzerland.”

“The requests were therefore answered in the negative.”

The transfer of war supplies is prohibited by the War Materials Act of Switzerland if the recipient nation is engaged in a domestic or international armed conflict.

However, Switzerland’s population is in favor of repealing the law, making the issue of delivering weapons to Ukraine a touchy one.
