Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke about bilateral cooperation, including “joint infrastructure projects”.

Putin and Raisi held telephone talks and both the Iranian and Russian sides “gave a positive assessment of the level and dynamics of development of Russian-Iranian relations,” it said.

“Issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, were discussed,” added the Kremlin.

Since the start of the Ukrainian War last year, relations between Russia and Iran have grown stronger.

Iran has given Russia hundreds of attack drones, many of which were used to bomb Ukrainian cities’ energy infrastructure.

The alliance between Russia and Iran is “moving at a pretty fast clip,” according to William Burns, director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, who made the statement on February 26.

Burns cited evidence that Moscow has offered to support Iran’s missile program in exchange for military assistance.
