Ukraine nation needs 1 million rounds of ammunition “as soon as feasible” in order to fend off Russian soldiers and launch a counteroffensive, according to Oleksii Reznikov.

Reznikov, speaking to media prior to a meeting of the European Union’s defense ministers in Stockholm, stated that Ukraine needs 1 million 155-millimeter and 105-millimeter shells, costing approximately 4 billion euros ($4.22 billion).

Reznikov declared his support for an Estonian proposal for the EU nations to work together to get those rounds of ammunition. According to him,

Ukraine need 90,000 to 100,000 artillery rounds every month.

The EU defense ministers’ meeting on Wednesday will include topics on air defense systems, tanks, and ammunition, according to the defense minister.

“Priority number one is air defense systems — and also ammunition, ammunition, and again ammunition,” so that Ukraine can be ready for a counteroffensive, he said.
