NLRB is being sued over firing of an Amazon employee

Gerald Bryson was sacked from one of Amazon’s warehouses in April 2020 after protesting working conditions during the epidemic.

In March of this year, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) filed a court case requesting Amazon to restore Bryson. According to the board, Amazon breached his rights under the National Labor Relations Act.

Republican senators Richard Burr and Mike Braun, as well as two House members, contend in a letter to the NLRB that Amazon was right in terminating Bryson. They claim that the board disregarded Bryson’s use of a megaphone to yell obscenities at a female employee during the demonstration.

The senators and U.S. Reps. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina and Rick Allen of Georgia stated in their letter on Thursday that Amazon was compelled to take action against Bryson under federal anti-discrimination rules, which prevent employers from tolerating a hostile work environment.
