New York: Global hip-hop icon and entrepreneur Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been handed a prison sentence exceeding four years after being convicted on charges of emotional and sexual abuse against his former partners. The ruling by Federal Judge Arun Subramanian highlights the severity of the case and its impact on survivors.

Judge Subramanian described the abuse as a calculated “system of control and humiliation,” causing significant trauma to Combs’ ex-girlfriends Cassandra Ventura and Jane Doe.

This was not a case of casual substance use but a serious pattern of manipulation and exploitation. Combs remained silent throughout the sentencing process.

In July 2024, Combs was convicted of coercing his former partners into sexual acts with male escorts while under the influence of drugs.

Although acquitted of racketeering and human trafficking charges, the verdict marks a significant moment in holding high-profile figures accountable.

Having been in custody since September 2024, Combs will have his time served deducted from his sentence, potentially making him eligible for release in roughly three years.

Prior to sentencing, Combs issued a public apology to the victims, while his defense team confirmed plans to pursue an appeal.
