WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Hamas of “brutal consequences” if it violates the current ceasefire agreement. He said the United States and its allies would take “decisive and harsh action” to end the group if it broke the truce.
In his latest statement, Trump said, “If Hamas breaks the ceasefire, we will eliminate them.” He clarified that the warning applies only if Hamas violates the agreement.
Trump added that several major Middle Eastern allies are now willing to join the U.S. mission in Gaza, expressing full solidarity with Washington.
He said allied nations had assured the U.S. that they were ready to help with “full force” if Hamas resumed fighting. Trump also mentioned that he had temporarily asked Israel and other allies to hold back military action to give Hamas a chance to comply with the deal.
The U.S. President expressed hope that Hamas would respect the ceasefire, warning that if the agreement was broken, the response would be swift, severe, and ruthless.
