The Bangladeshi authorities have seized gold worth $1.3 million from former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The gold was confiscated from bank lockers after she reportedly failed to submit these gifts to the Toshakhana. The value of the seized gold is around $1.3 million (approximately 370 million Pakistani rupees).

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) recovered the gold jewelry from lockers registered under Sheikh Hasina’s call.

After beginning locker numbers 751 and 753, officers recovered a complete of 10 kilograms of gold. The operation was carried out in accordance with the Bangladesh Bank’s rules and policies.

It is worth mentioning that earlier this month, a Bangladeshi court sentenced Sheikh Hasina to death.
