ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a landmark partnership with rail service providers in Canada and the United Kingdom, enabling passengers to travel by air and train on a single ticket.
Under the new arrangement, passengers arriving in Toronto on PIA flights will be able to continue their journey to eight major Canadian cities through partner rail services.
Similarly, travelers flying with PIA to Manchester and London will gain seamless access to more than 50 cities across the United Kingdom via affiliated rail networks.
PIA passengers can purchase combined air-to-rail tickets from all PIA booking offices and registered travel agents. The facility is also available through PIA’s official website and mobile application.
According to PIA, the primary objective of the agreement is to provide passengers with smooth, end-to-end travel convenience, effectively extending connectivity closer to their final destinations. The initiative is expected to save passengers significant time and enhance overall travel efficiency.
The airline described the air-to-rail integration as a major step toward digitizing and modernizing PIA’s network, aligning its services with global travel standards and improving the passenger experience.
