Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point left Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers after sustaining an injury and did not return, the team announced.

The incident occurred roughly five minutes into the second period during a power play. Point had just scored on a loose puck amid a scramble in front of the Flyers’ net, giving Tampa Bay a 3-0 lead. Moments later, he fell awkwardly, grabbing his knee, and had to be assisted off the ice by teammates.

Point entered the matchup with 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 36 games this 2025-26 season. Now in his 10th NHL season, the Calgary native has amassed 316 goals and 348 assists for 664 points in 693 regular-season games, all with the Lightning.

He recorded a career-high 51 goals in the 2022-23 season and has reached 90 points three times, most recently in 2023-24.

Drafted in the third round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Point has also been a key playoff contributor, totaling 89 points in 92 postseason games, and played a pivotal role in Tampa Bay’s Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021.

The Lightning came into Monday’s game with a 27-13-3 record, riding a nine-game winning streak and holding second place in the Atlantic Division.
