Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has strongly criticised Iran’s recent actions, describing them as “blackmail” ahead of diplomatic engagements.
He stated that attacks targeting two oil refineries in Riyadh were carried out by Iran, stressing that such actions would not yield any strategic advantage.
The minister made it clear that the Kingdom would not yield to pressure in the wake of these developments.
Addressing escalating tensions, Faisal bin Farhan emphasised that Saudi Arabia’s foremost priority remains the immediate cessation of attacks in the Gulf region. He further noted that the justifications put forward by Iran for targeting neighbouring states lack credibility.
Issuing a firm warning, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that Saudi Arabia’s restraint in the face of continued aggression should not be misconstrued as weakness.
He added that trust in Iran has been significantly eroded, and the Kingdom reserves the right to respond decisively, including through military measures if required.
