PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz opened her speech at the PDM jalsa with Punjabi. She was the first leader to address the crowd. Maryam referred to herself as the voice of every person in Pakistan, who could not speak for themselves against the PTI government.
“I have brought the case of laborers to you today. I have brought a case against the judiciary and media.”
She highlighted while addressing at Jinnah Park in Gujranwala that the government has snatched the media’s freedom of speech.
“The media who wanted to support the truth was caught by NAB or fired,” said Maryam.
She also highlighted the vote theft case and asked the Gujranwala people that,
“Do you understand? No one has the authority to throw out the elected Prime Minister.”
While criticizing the PTI government, Maryam said that the people who do not respect the vote, their condition remains unstable.
“When the vote is not respected, this is the condition of the people which is happening to you,” said PML-N leader.
Maryam also talked about the wheat and sugar corruption that happened in Pakistan.
“The government who used to call us thieves, are now stealing sugar and wheat, Who is the mafia now?”
Maryam also criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan and said,
“When Imran Khan’s corruption comes to light, he will touch his ears and run away.”
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, is demonstrating its first political power in Gujranwala, Punjab, today.
This alliance of 11 opposition parties includes the main opposition parties Pakistan Muslim League (N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), and other parties are vehement to topple the government.
Preparations have been completed for the first PDM meeting to be held at Jinnah Park in Gujranwala and workers of opposition parties are arriving at the venue.
Simultaneously, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have arrived at the venue.
