KARACHI: The Pakistan Tobacco Company’s (PTC) net profits jumped 24 per cent to Rs9.44 billion, translating into the earnings per share (EPS) of Rs36.98 for the half-year ended June 30, 2021, a bourse filing said on Tuesday.

The company declared an interim cash dividend of Rs26/share, it added.

During the period, the company recorded a net revenue of Rs37.13 billion, up 18.39 per cent, compared with the revenues of Rs31.36 billion in the corresponding period last year.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2021, the Pakistan Tobacco Company posted a net profit of Rs4.95 billion, up 3.34 per cent from Rs4.79 billion recorded in the corresponding quarter of the last year.

The earnings per share for the quarter clocked-in at Rs19.38 as against the EPS of Rs18.76 last year.

The net turnover clocked-in at Rs19.03 billion, up 9.11 per cent from Rs17.44 billion recorded during the quarter ended June 30, 2020.

The company is a Pakistani tobacco manufacturing firm, which is a subsidiary of the British American Tobacco. PTC is the leading cigarette maker in Pakistan. It has two factories which are located in Akora Khattak, and Jhelum.
