ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said the Kashmir dispute had made South Asia a hostage.

“We tried our best to hold talks with India over the issue of Kashmir, however, India construed our efforts for peace as weakness. We hope that there will come a government in India with which could resolve issues through talks,” PM Imran Khan said addressing an event at Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.

He said whatever was happening in India it was bad luck of its nation as the country needed no enemy in presence of the RSS, a Hindu extremist organisation. It was difficult that India could talk with the ideology of RSS, he maintained.

The prime minister said wars were fought with wrong estimates. “It is always said that this is a war of a few weeks but it goes on,” he said adding that the dispute of Kashmir could not be resolved through guns or bombs.

He also said that there was a need for establishing a think tank related to global affairs. He said Pakistan should not become a part of any bloc.

“We want to stop the increasing distances between China and the United,” he said.
