Real Madrid came back from two goals behind to overcome Sevilla and close in on La Liga title. Karim Benzema scored a late winner.
Ivan Rakitic’s free-kick and Erik Lamela’s close-range effort stunned Real Madrid in the first half.
Rodrygo pulled one back for the visitors early in the second half, but substitute Nacho equalized late on.
The amazing turnaround was subsequently completed by Benzema in stoppage time.
The striker sneaked a shot past Bono from a cut-back to give the visitors a stunning win that puts them 15 points clear at the top of the table with six games remaining.
Benzema’s stellar season continued with this goal, which added to his prior match-winning games.
In the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea, the France international scored a hat-trick, and his goal in the second leg last week clinched a 5-4 aggregate victory.
With a win, Sevilla would have moved into second position and narrowed the deficit at the top to nine points, but they remain in third place, tied on 60 points with Barcelona in second and Atletico Madrid in fourth.
Real Madrid still has two games in hand on Barcelona, but it would take an extraordinary collapse from Carlo Ancelotti’s team to catch Barcelona in the final stages.
