ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that his love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is unquestionable and that he would never incite his supporters to hoot at Masjid-e-Nabawi.

The former premier has finally spoken up after remaining silent for more than 24 hours, while giving an interview to a private news channel, Khan said, “Whatever happened in Madina was a result of their [PML-N leaders’] conduct, and I challenge these people won’t be able to appear in public places.”

On Thursday, a  group of Pakistani pilgrims hurled insults and expletives at federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti as they approached the Masjid-e-Nabawi.

When the event in Madina occurred, PTI workers in Pakistan and overseas were observing Shab-e-Dua, according to the former prime minister.

The former premier further stated that he does not need to prove his love and respect for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He went on to say, “I believe that iman (faith) is incomplete without affection for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”

“No one was asked to come out. It’s never happened like this before, the way people are coming out to support PTI “he stated.

Yesterday, the Saudi authorities have arrested some Pakistani pilgrims who chanted slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation at the Masjid-i-Nabawi in Madina.

Saudi Embassy in Islamabad on Friday confirmed this saying that some of them were arrested for violating the regulations and disrespecting the holy places.

Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the government is going to request Saudi Arabia to take appropriate action against the elements that used indecent language in the premises of Masjid-e-Nabawi (SAWW).
