Kharkiv: Thousands of buildings have been damaged in the city

According to Kharkiv’s mayor, thousands of buildings have been damaged in the city.

About 170 schools and kindergartens, as well as 30 percent of high-rise structures, have been damaged.

Multiple points of infrastructure, including hospitals, substations, transportation, and roads, were destroyed, according to Ihor Terekhov in a Telegram post.

“We have 8,000 residential high-rises, 30 percent of which have been partially or completely demolished,” Terekhov wrote on Saturday.

While the city plans to use new technologies to rehabilitate damaged structures, he says “many of them will have to be rebuilt from the ground up.”
