Mohammad Nabi from Afghanistan helped defeat Zimbabwe

Mohammad Nabi performed very well and a strong bowling performance helped Afghanistan win the third ODI by four wickets. Completing a 3-0 series sweep and, more importantly, accumulating crucial Super League points. In Harare Afghanistan now has 100 points in the World Cup Super League table, trailing only Bangladesh.

After being put into bat, Zimbabwe folded for 135 in 44.5 overs, with all six Afghanistan bowlers picking up at least one wicket. Afghanistan struck at regular intervals on a surface that had a bit in it for the bowlers, never allowing any of the batters to settle.

In response, the Zimbabwe bowlers, particularly Blessing Muzarabani, came out all guns blazing, but the target was never out of reach for the visitors. The visitors reached the target with 12.2 overs to spare thanks to Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain, and Mohammad Nabi , the former captain.

With the score at 42 for 4, the hosts needed someone to hold the fort, and Sikandar Raza delivered. He began slowly, collecting a few boundaries whenever the opportunity arose.

Afghanistan, on either hand, found things easier once he was done with his spell. With Rashid was the standout bowler for Afghanistan, taking three wickets in 7.5 overs.

Chatara did manage to get rid of Najibullah Zadran, but Shahidi kept calm. He and Nabi added 45 runs for the fifth wicket before he was caught for 38. With a solid pull of deep midwicket, he enclosed the series and the clean sweep for Afghanistan.

For his three wickets, Rashid was decided to name Player of the Match, while Rahmat was named Player of the Series.
