After being put into bat, Zimbabwe folded for 135 in 44.5 overs, with all six Afghanistan bowlers picking up at least one wicket. Afghanistan struck at regular intervals on a surface that had a bit in it for the bowlers, never allowing any of the batters to settle.

Afghanistan, on either hand, found things easier once he was done with his spell. With Rashid was the standout bowler for Afghanistan, taking three wickets in 7.5 overs.

Chatara did manage to get rid of Najibullah Zadran, but Shahidi kept calm. He and Nabi added 45 runs for the fifth wicket before he was caught for 38. With a solid pull of deep midwicket, he enclosed the series and the clean sweep for Afghanistan.

For his three wickets, Rashid was decided to name Player of the Match, while Rahmat was named Player of the Series.
