Von Miller, a superstar linebacker who signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, was the team’s best offseason signing.

Miller’s addition was unexpected for three reasons. To begin with, there had been no prior reports tying him to Buffalo. Second, at his playoff news conference in January, Bills general manager Brandon Beane stated that the team would not be “big spenders” in free agency since they were close to the salary cap.

Third, Von Miller had just won his second Super Bowl triumph, this time with the Los Angeles Rams, a team that was already on course to keep the majority of its key players and had been tipped as early favorites to capture the Lombardi Trophy after the 2022 NFL season.

Miller spoke to the media before of the Bills’ mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 14, and discussed what led to his departure from the Rams.

“We got all these AFC Championship [banners] out here, and not one Super Bowl,” Miller said of the training facility in Buffalo. “It’s an expectation from this franchise, this fan base, and that’s why I came here.”
