King Charles first Christmas Day speech | Timings | How to watch Christmas speech
King Charles’s first Christmas speech as king is almost ready to happen. Before the broadcast, royal fans and critics alike have been waiting to hear how he will look back on a big year.
Since Queen Elizabeth II died just three months ago, this will be the first Christmas since then. But the King is also expected to praise the Queen’s life and her many happy accomplishments, as he did in his first speech as monarch.
Since the first holiday speech of this kind was given in 1932, this has become an important annual event for families all over the country. They get together to remember what has happened and what they can look forward to in the coming year.
Here’s what to expect from the speech in 2022, as well as how and where to watch it.
On Sunday, December 25, King Charles will make his first holiday broadcast.
Tradition says that the speech will be shown at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.
It will be shown on Sky News, BBC One, BBC Two, and ITV. After the show, the live-action version of Disney’s Aladdin from 2019 will be shown on BBC One. Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow will come on after the show on ITV.
On Christmas Day, a lot of Brits are likely to watch the King’s speech. A recent survey of 2,000 adults found that 26% of people plan to watch the address on the day it is broadcast. Based on the answers of 3,338 Brits to a different YouGov poll, 38% say they will watch the speech.
After 8.2 million people watched, the Queen’s speech in 2020 was named the most-watched show of the day. The 2021 version, on the other hand, had an amazing 9.1 million viewers and was once again the most watched show.
