WhatsApp introduces new shortcuts for group admins on iOS
The Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is said to have introduced new shortcuts for group admins to quickly and easily take tasks for a specific group participant on IOS.
According to WABetainfo, the new shortcuts facilitate interactions with group members, as the platform now enables large groups of up to 1024 individuals.
The new version will make it easier for group administrators to manage and communicate with such a huge number of participants in private.
The feature is available to all users who install the most recent WhatsApp for iOS version from the App Store.
The phone numbers of group participants are now indicated in group events when they join or leave a group, allowing group admins to easily engage with them.
If administrators tap and hold a phone number, they will be able to use new shortcuts such as the ability to rapidly call and speak with group participants in private, as well as add group participants to their contacts book and copy their phone numbers.
“This feature can save group admins a significant amount of time as they no longer need to navigate through the group info screen to find contact information,” according to the report.
Meanwhile, it was revealed last week that the messaging platform was rolling out a new “voice status update” feature for iOS beta, allowing users to share audio notes via status updates.
