Rihanna achieves another big milestone
Until today, Rihanna‘s appearance at the Super Bowl was the highlight. The pop queen shook the stage with her 13-minute performance, which included everything from her pregnancy to viewers’ hate comments to the audience’s reaction to her outstanding performance. Her first live event after giving birth to her first child was the Super Bowl 2023. Rihanna is expecting her second child and will become a mother for the second time soon.
Many people who watched the Super Bowl on television were outraged by Rihanna’s performance, which prompted them to file complaints against her, claiming that it was too sexualized for the audience to watch with their families because it contained sexual moves.
Those who felt compelled to protest Rihanna to authorities came to the conclusion that the lyrics and dance were overly sexualized, with some viewers even equating it with porn.
According to reports, TMZ obtained approximately 103 complaints filed with the Federal Communications Commission, a US government agency that works extensively to regulate television content.
Some people were critical of Rihanna’s public appearance. Viewers spoke up about her ‘unacceptable’ moves, which did not appear to be entertaining and were instead compared to pornography.
One California viewer even compared Rihanna’s performance to Kim Petras and Sam Smith’s Grammy performance. She stated, “I don’t care what someone worships, but children shouldn’t be exposed to pornography, and as an adult, I don’t wish to see it… Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and oneself?”
“The halftime show this year was so obscene that I had to turn the TV off due to the sexual material,” remarked a Utahn viewer.
Meanwhile, people across the country were clutching their pearls in protest of the ‘overtly sexual dancing’ and songs with explicit lyrics.
Though many loved what Rihanna delivered, there were some in the audience who expected Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance to be a little more elevated, such as Donald Trump, who was one of the viewers to comment on her show, stating that it was ‘not her best’.
This isn’t the first time this has happened at the Super Bowl, according to Rihanna, who received 103 complaints. Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson received 540,000 complaints for their wardrobe malfunction in 2004.
