US ambassador will be called to protest against Biden’s remarks on Nuclear assets: Bilawal

Arshad

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated on Saturday that Pakistan has decided to call the US ambassador to the Foreign Office to protest President Joe Biden’s remarks about Pakistan’s nuclear capacity.

“We know how to secure our nuclear arsenal, and they meet every international norm set by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) in terms of security and safety,” Bilawal said at a news conference.

“Pakistan is adamant about maintaining its integrity and security. If there are any security concerns, they should be raised about India’s nuclear weapons, which recently accidentally fired a missile into Pakistani territory.”

Bilawal stated that he had reviewed President Biden’s statement with the Prime Minister in detail and hoped that the episode would not have a detrimental impact on Pakistan-US relations.

“We will ensure that our engagements with the US remain on track,” Bilawal added.

Pakistan may be “one of the most dangerous states in the world,” according to US President Joe Biden because the country has “nuclear weapons without any coherence.”

On Thursday, the US president made the remarks while speaking at a Democratic congressional campaign committee reception.

“And what I believe to be one of the most hazardous countries in the world: Pakistan.” Nuclear weapons without cohesiveness,” Biden was quoted as saying in a transcript of his speech, which was posted on the White House website.

Biden’s speech focused on the changing geopolitical environment throughout the world, emphasizing that the world was changing quickly and that countries were reconsidering their ties.

Pakistan’s nuclear command and control system is most secure: Imran

Pakistan Nuclear assets

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s nuclear command and control system is the most secure, BOL News reported on Saturday.

In one of his messages on the social networking website, Chairman PTI Imran Khan raised questions about the statement of US President Joe Biden.

“What information the US President has reached this unwarranted conclusion about our nuclear capability and when has Pakistan shown aggression, especially after nuclearization?” Imran Khan questioned.

He said that as a former prime minister, I know that we have the most secure nuclear command and control system, but Pakistan has been involved in wars like the US and has not invaded any country.

On the other hand, the former prime minister criticized the current government and questioned Biden’s statement showing the complete failure of the imported government’s foreign policy and its claims of “restoring relations with the United States”.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden claimed that Pakistan’s nuclear program lacks “cohesion”.

The statement came during the US president’s speech at a Democratic congressional campaign committee reception, where he called Pakistan “one of the most dangerous countries.”
“Did anyone anticipate we’d be in a situation where China is trying to figure out its role in relation to Russia, India, and Pakistan?” Biden asked.
The US president stated that he has spent more time than any other head of state in the world with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, including 68 hours in person.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government extended the deployment of Rangers in the capital for three months on Thursday to ensure law and order following PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s threat of a long march.

The deployment was approved by the federal cabinet, while the summary was approved by the interior ministry.

Following PTI patron Imran Khan’s warning of a protracted march to topple the government, the chief commissioner requested an extension.

Furthermore, the federal government filed a contempt of court petition against the PTI head in the Supreme Court on Thursday in response to his call for a protracted march to Islamabad.

Last month, the former prime minister warned Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah that “he should be scared” because the PTI will march to Islamabad this time with “complete preparation.”
