In the wake of the current delta variant cases, Google has decided to put its activities on hold and delay reopening its headquarters due to the recent soar in Delta Variant cases. The leading tech giant has recently rolled out a policy which states that the office activities will be resumed from the mid of October 2021, until all the employees get vaccinated and return to work in person.

Apple, along with Netflix and Twitter etc., has followed the suit and made the announcement of closing down the headquarters until the situation stabilizes. Facebook, on the other hand has made it mandatory for its employees to get the necessary jabs and get back to work, as soon as possible.

CEO Google, Sundar Pichai recently stated in his email to employees, that instead of September 1, the office will resume from October 18.

“This extension will allow us time to ramp back into work while providing flexibility for those who need it,” writes Pichai.

Now that the decision has been taken by the famous Silicon Valley companies, it could have an influence on other employers and they would follow the lead and ensure similar precautions.
